Remember, becoming a horseman and accomplishing your dream with your horse, no matter where you are in that journey, takes an investment of time and patience. Building a “good horse” and acquiring the skills to pursue an activity and do it well and safely with your horse are the rewards we can deliver on that road. Being traditionalists, western Vaquero style Bridle horse trainers, we know no other way to speed the process, than to take your horsemanship one step at a time, return to the roots, explore the depths of the foundational aspects of true horsemanship and then build, challenge and advance you and your horse towards refinement…let us show you the way. Step out of the “rat race” and enjoy the process… you’ll love the ride.

  • Day 1 & 2 cover the Establishing Leadership - Horse Psychology, Groundwork, Round Penning, Hobble Training & the essential of our Biting Up Exercises.
  • Day 3 & 4 covers Wil’s 10 Steps - A foundational sequence of tasks in a snaffle bit necessary for a horse to become flexible & supple both vertically and laterally, working on collection, leg cues and total mind & body control, for advancing colts or tuning older horses in preparation for advancing Beyond the Snaffle Bit & reining for any event or work.
  • Day 5 & 6 covers Wil’s program advancing into neck reining and going through a series of bits “Beyond the Snaffle Bit” that refine communication in preparation for going into the full bridle. Including bit discussions and demonstrations, working on understanding the “feel”& reining techniques used with the different types of full ported finished bits & romel reins, sharing the California bridle horse history and training techniques.

This is our full and original format of our From Foundation to Finished Course, however, with the time constraints of people these days we will offer these courses in a piece-meal format to allow folks to progress and return for repeat sessions or advanced portions of the sessions at later dates or stay on for the full ‘meal deal”. We feel this format may free up folks scheduling to partake in our offerings. See our
