ome join us for our 7th winter season in Arizona. We want to welcome you to our “Southwest OutPost.” As of 2003, we now own 15 acres of Mesquite scrub trees and

Yucca in Cochise County in southeastern Arizona. We are located 1-1/2 hours from Tucson, near the local communities of Cochise, Sunsites, and Pearce and not far from the old west’s outlaw town of Tombstone. At 4500 ft. elevation we are out of the extreme cactus of the Tucson area and up into the more "horse friendly" country of the grasslands. The valley is a rural cattle ranching and farming area with nearby Pistatchio & Pecan orchards. The cooler mornings quickly warm up to mild winter weather in the 60's and 70's. Can't beat that for working horses!
e have miles of riding out the back gate to State & Forest land leading right up into the historical Dragoon Mountains and the famous Apache hideout,
Cochise Stronghold. These strange and breathtaking rock formations tower over 100 year old trails that wind their way up

into the mountains. After a day of riding, the spectacularl view of the Stronghold at sunset will hold our attention around the campfire.

ur rustic desert OutPost facility include a new 10-stall barn & tack room, paddocks, round pen, outdoor arena, cow corrals, our RV Barn with an Arizona Room & kitchen gathering place & BBQ patio/campfire area. Just the basics, but everything we need! Click Here for more pics

odging will be up to the students with nearby B&B’s available, a newer local motel close in Sunsites, and more motel accommodations in Benson and Wilcox just an easy 30 minutes away. See a list of lodging accommodations below.

ake your reservations early! Winter is Arizona’s busiest season. Students with RV’s/campers have the option of staying right at the OutPost, we have power and water hook-ups, with bathroom/shower available for your use.
